Now that Kinja is done crappin' its pants maybe this will work better. I posted yesterday (twice by accident cuz Kinja) but with that situation that was going on I didn't get much of a response.

So the white crap is falling from the sky for the first time this season. My WRX still don't have it's winter attire.

Kinja'd!!!

I've never had to buy winters before so any advice you guys have is great. I've tried looking at craigslist and its just kind of a pain in the ass. Town Fair Tire which is down the street from my house will price match and this is what I found on Tire Rack

Kinja'd!!!

so one thing i didn't notice is that I hadn't yet added in the shipping cost and I don't know if that should affect by bargaining with Town Fair Tire. with two kids and a house, I need to keep the cost to a minimum which is pretty much how I arrived at the above selection. What do you guys thinks? Can you beat that price? I spent the second half of last winter on the summers so i'm thinking any winter package will be better. I'm not looking for top performing tires, just something to keep me on the road

If you can get all the above price matched locally, and have them throw in free mounting and balancing, you've done well.

That's a fair price for 4 wheels and 4 tires.

That seems like a really good price.

Thats what i'm hoping but I feel like they will say that that price doesn't include shipping which was like $140

WHY ARE 255 TIRES SO DAMN EXPENSIVE!! Gah, I need new rears before it snows and they are virtually all $200 each.

if i just went and reused my stock rims it was close to the same price as the 16's on new steelies.

The idea of Crossfire on steelies scares me. They work visually on a lot of cars, I just don't have one of those cars :/

I think the second pic has steel rims that were taken from a Mercedes and Powder coated. The black steelies actually have a wierdly nice look to them on the crossfire

Are those 18" steelies int he first pic?! Also that second picture is totally a drag set up, not that changes everything.

While not as terrible as I though it would be, not staggered wheels would irritate the hell out of me. Being super nitpicky my car is red with silver accents, imo the accents and rim color would have to match.

I'll just over pay for tires …. I knew what I was signing up for.

You could always plasti-dip them to whatever you desire. I'm sure you and OPPO could come up with some sort of scheme to make it look good. I didn;t even notice the slicks on that on that pic.

I'm jealous of your 16" Steelie ability. The 2015 has big-boy brakes that say "nuh uh" to the thought of a downsized wheel.

What you linked looks good. Have you checked reviews of those firestones? I'm not familiar with them, and everyone always recommends Blizzaks.

i havnt it was just the cheapest there. I managed on summer tires in New England winter so I couldn;t imagine not being happy with any winter tire.
